Thinking about how I want to be more proactive about my art and drawing a wider variety of things. I want to be more intentional in my art this year. What I actually mean, I wish to continue to grow in my cartooning art, by practicing in more specific ways, other than just drawing my own characters.

Most people that have known me for quite a while know that I’ve been drawing pretty much since I could “properly” hold a pencil. To this day, my growth in the arts is amazing, more than just visual arts, music as well. This month’s sketch is actually a re-draw of a picture I drew way back in 2008.image

Since 2008, I’ve been a long-time fan of Phantom of the Opera because a former co-worker of mine introduced me to it. I thought this deserved a re-draw to see how much I’ve really grown in the last 8 years. This particular pose is a very difficult one for me to draw, especially in proper placement of hands and feet(not to mention being able to draw hands correctly and proportionately). Looking back, I did well in drawing this, regardless of my then-limited skills in cartooning. Things are to only mature from here on out. I look forward to what 2016 has in store for in regards to the arts!
